Mentoring Philosophy
Since returning to Taiwan in 2005, Professor Chou has advised more than 150 graduate researchers from Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Ethiopia, Somaliland, Belize, and other regions. Training begins with real engineering problems and covers data governance, critical literature review, method creation, programming, experimentation, interpretation, visualization, publication, and research ethics.

Professor Chou completed the University of Cambridge Certificate in EMI Skills and integrates English presentation, academic writing, cross-cultural communication, and international collaboration into graduate education.

Alumni and Academic Legacy
Alumni work in universities, government, engineering consulting, construction, energy, technology, and manufacturing. Some have become deans, associate deans, department heads, professors, and research leaders; others are entrepreneurs or family-business successors. PiM Lab seeks not merely to produce papers, but to build a long-term chain from research training and international publication to engineering application and global career development.
Authorship and Contribution Practice
The principal investigator leads conceptualization, overall architecture, supervision, resources, and quality control. Students contribute according to their strengths in data, programming, model training, experiments, analysis, visualization, and initial drafting. Contributions are represented according to actual work and CRediT principles.
